ROSSINI - Open Webinar on Use cases

On March 23rd  at 15:00 AM ROSSINI organizes its 2nd open webinar. (Register here)

The European-funded Rossini project collects thirteen partners throughout Europe with the overall common aim to improve Human-Robot-Collaboration (HRC) applications in terms of job quality, reconfiguration time and safety performance. To reach this goal, the overall Rossini solution has been designed as a set of novel and potentially interconnected components named as “the Rossini modular KIT”. Leveraging on these components 3 different industrial scenarios have been implemented in terms of Human-Robot Colllaboration applications.

In detail, after an overall presentation of the Rossini project, this webinar will present the Rossini solution’s implementation in these 3 use cases: a domestic appliances assembly line (Whirlpool), an electronic components production line (Schindler) and a food products packaging application (IMA).

ROSSINI Open Webinar

The Rossini Modular KIT: a complete set of tools for collaborative robotics

This webinar will present the ROSSINI solution according to the above vision, namely as a modular KIT of component for HRC applications. In detail, the overall vision underneath the development of the ROSSINI modular KIT will be illustrated, stemming from the envisioned Safety-Aware Architecture presented in the project’s proposal; accordingly, the different components that make the ROSSINI KIT are grouped into two sets: CORE and EXTRA. A representative subset of these components will then be presented by the partners that designed and developed them.

AI and Robotics for Smart Manufacturing

The manufacturing domain has been clearly identified as one of the main verticals that will be radically transformed during the next years thanks to the introduction of new digital technologies and, in particular, Artificial Intelligence and robotics solutions. The digital transformation brought by the Industry 4.0 paradigm implies the opportunity to reinforce the competitiveness and sovereignty of Europe’s productive fabric in a globalized economy, by increasing the flexibility, adaptability, sustainability and efficiency of the manufacturing process while improving the quality of the resulting products or even enabling their recycling possibilities.During this webinar, some of the main use-cases for the usage of AI and robotics solutions in manufacturing will be presented (e.g., demand forecasting, predictive maintenance, zero-defect manufacturing, co-bots). The specific case of the H2020 Decenter project will be presented in detail, where Atos and Robotnik have collaborated in the implementation of an object detection system to be embedded in an Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) for safely interacting with human workers and other robots during the navigation.
